Welcome to Cairo. Upon arrival, you will be met and escorted to your hotel.

Day 3 Cairo (BL)
Our first stop is at the fabulous Egyptian Museum to see just a few of the priceless antiquities including King Tutankhamon's Treasures. After lunch we visit Cheop's Pyramid--one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World--and the Sphinx, the great god-lion sentinel, built over 35 centuries ago.

Day 4 Cairo-Luxor Embark Cruise (BLD)
Fly to Luxor where you join your Nile cruise vessel for a 7-night cruise. Later, cross the Nile to Luxor's West Bank, where you'll explore the astonishing and extensive New Kingdom city of "Thebes". After lunch, visit Luxor and Karnak Temples.

Day 5 Luxor-Edfu (BLD)
Sail to Edfu via Esna lock.

Day 6 Edfu-Kom Ombo-Aswan (BLD)
Today an exhilarating carriage ride takes you through town to the Temple of Horus, the Falcon God. Return to your ship and sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Graeco - Roman style Temple of Sobek, the Crocodile God. Standing serenely on a hilltop, the site offers an incredible view over the Nile. Then sail to Aswan.

Day 7 Aswan (BLD)
Morning sightseeing includes Aswan's Old and High Dams, the ancient Granite Quarries, and the Temple of Philae. After lunch we sail around Elephantine Island.

Day 8 Aswan-Abu Simbel-Aswan (BLD)
A morning flight takes you to Aswan to admire the magnificent Temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. They were moved up the hillside to keep them from destruction by flooding from the Nile when the High Dam was built forming Lake Nasser.

Day 9 Aswan-Kom Ombo-Edfu (BLD)
A leisurely sale to Edfu is the perfect time to enjoy a book about the Pharaohs and Ancient Egypt.

Day 10 Edfu-Esna-Luxor (BLD)
We continue sailing to arrive Luxor in the afternoon. This afternoon, a visit to the Luxor Museum showcases some of the well-preserved New Kingdom statues.

Day 11 Luxor Disembark-Cairo (B)
Disembark this morning and take the short flight back to Cairo, for an evening at leisure.

Day 12 Cairo (B)
We visit today Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. Though most of the city has been destroyed by time, the Alabaster Sphinx and statue of Ramses II remain. We then proceed to the Necropolis of Sakkara, City of the Dead, to see the step pyramid of King Zoser and the Wall of Cobras. We also stop at the Carpet School for a demonstration.

Day 13 Cairo (B)
Drive through Old Cairo to visit the ancient Ben Ezra Synagogue; Al Moallaka Church, better known as the "Hanging Church", and the Abu Sergah Church dating back to the beginning of the 5th Century. Then proceed to the Citadel of Salah El Din. Built in 1183 AD, it houses many important monuments, including the great Mohammed Ali Mosque, constructed in 1830 AD.

Day 14 Al Fayyum Oasis (BL)
The Fayyum Oasis lies in a depression, right in the Western Desert, about 60 miles southwest of Cairo. Famed for its lush greenery and beautiful scenery, there is evidence of pre-historic settlements as well as Pharaonic, Greek, Roman, Coptic and Islamic monuments. We will see Lake Quaroon and visit the Pyramid of Amenhet III and Senusert II.

Enjoy a day at leisure. You may want to consider an optional trip to Alexandria, pearl of the Mediterranean.

Transfer to the airport to board your return flight to the United States.
