Day 4 Victoria Falls (Livingstone) (BLD)
The day can be scheduled any way you like. We recommend visiting Victoria Falls in the morning. Explorer David Livingstone was led to the Falls in 1854 by the Makokolo who named them Mosi Oa Tunya - “the smoke that thunders.” The Falls are over 5500 feet across and more than 300 feet high. Be prepared to get wet, as the spray of over 150 million gallons of water per minute crashing to the gorge below creates a spray that can be seen from more than 18 miles away! This afternoon, enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the Zambezi.

Day 5 Victoria Falls-South Luangwa (BLD)
A light aircraft flight takes you into the spectacular South Lluangwa Valley. Your guide awaits at the airport for a scenic drive to your camp overlooking the Luangwa River. You’ll have time to settle in and enjoy lunch or afternoon tea (depending on what time you arrive). Later this evening, enjoy a night game drive.

Day 6 South Luangwa (BLD)
Enjoy a hot bowl of porridge around the campfire at dawn before setting out on your morning game drive or walk. South Luangwa National Park is the largest of four parks in the Luangwa Valley. The valley is a rift valley similar to that in East Africa, although it is believed to be older. Thanks to its rich volcanic soil, the valley has a rich, diversified vegetation - which in turn supports a large number of herbivores. On your game drives or walks, you might spot some of the animals that are unique to this area, like puku, which is one of the smaller types of antelopes. Return to the camp around mid-day for lunch and perhaps a siesta before a night game drive to take a peek into the nocturnal animal world.

Day 7 South Luangwa (BLD)
Choose your activity for today. You might want to take a picnic lunch and explore further afield in the park. Another “special” animal to watch for is the Thornicroft’s giraffe. These giraffe differ from the Maasai or Rothschild’s giraffe - their legs below their knees are almost white and their faces are quite light or white. The main part of their body is covered in dark patches, while their neck is covered in lighter patches.

Day 8 South Luangwa (BLD)
During your visit, you might want to visit nearby Kawaza School or stay overnight at Kawaza Village, the award-winning community projects supported by Robin Pope Safaris for more than 20 years.

Day 9 South Luangwa-Lake Malawi (BLD)
Bid farewell to the South Luangwa Valley as you fly to Lilongwe and then on to Lake Malawi. Malawi is known as the warm heart of Africa. The country is dominated by Lake Malawi, Africa’s third largest lake which runs along part of the Great Rift Valley. The most picturesque part of Lake Malawi is in the south where Lake Malawi National Park is home to hundreds of species of fish, including colourful cichlids.

Day 10 - 12 Lake Malawi (BLD)
Three full days of relaxation - there's no schedule and nothing that you "must do". But there are a lot of activities to keep you as busy as you like! Lake Malawi is the world’s most ecologically diverse lake. Its crystal clear waters are home to more than a thousand species of fish, including hundreds of species of colourful cichlids. The southern part of the lake boasts some the best diving in Africa, with clouds of tropical fish swimming undisturbed amongst lush volcanic islands. Much of the action takes place in the calm shallows, making it excellent for snorkelling. The water is so clear that it is even possible to observe the marine life from aboard a boat or kayak.

Day 13 Lake Malawi-Depart
Sadly, your stay at this remote paradise must come to an end. Return to Lilongwe and continue by air to Johannesburg where you board your overnight flight to London.
Day 14 Arrive USA
Arrive in London early this morning and continue on the USA-bound flight later today. Welcome Home!
